Our Story
Solar Power Pods are powerful, silent and as relentless as the Sun.
Over the last few years it has become apparent that Governments seem to have a ‘flexible’ attitude to the climate emergency, a cynic might say depending on where they are in their election cycle, so I decided a few years ago to take matters into my own hands and create the Solar Power Pod for my family.
I was tired of hearing every expert on the planet telling their respective Governments that they must act now to avoid devastating consequences for all of our children, only for it to seemingly fall on deaf ears. Then Russia invaded Ukraine and we all started to feel the pinch of doubling and tripling energy prices. It was hard to hear on the daily news about people really struggling to pay their bills and having to choose between heating and eating, particularly the elderly. So something direct and tangible had to be done to put the power literally in people’s hands so that they could at least have heat and light, and be able to eat a hot meal.
After performing extensive research into which components would be best suited for the system I created the first incarnation of the Solar Power Pod. It performed it’s tasks admirably but I soon realised that it needed significantly more power to enable it’s integration into an average home. It had to be capable of charging multiple devices simultaneously, powering a home office, a vacuum cleaner, microwave, a small heater, lawnmower and a pressure washer, as well as the really power hungry appliances such as a kettle and toaster.
Today’s Solar Power Pod is a testament to exhaustive testing in real life situations, living with it day after day, being used to perform daily tasks and clearing every hurdle with ease. It is powerful, silent and as relentless as the Sun.
We as a company believe that it’s everyone’s right to have the ability to generate their own power, not just the preserve of the giant faceless energy companies that seem to only care about their shareholder’s dividends. So by providing this ability in the form of the Solar Power Pod we want you to save as much money on your energy bills as possible, for as long as possible, and have a direct daily impact on the fight against climate change.
